Travel expected to be busy this 4th of July

The Fourth of July is tomorrow, but roads and freeways will be busy today.

Triple-A Michigan says this (WED) afternoon is expected to be the busiest day for travel as Michiganders head to campgrounds, hotels and other places across the state. 1.7 million people are expected to take a vacation over the holiday.

1.5 million are planning road trips.

Michigan State Police will be looking for drunk drivers and others who are being reckless.

To help ease congestion, the Michigan Department of Transportation is suspending work and lifting traffic restrictions wherever possible.
